WELCOME to Clinton, Arkansas, Van Buren County.

We are the southern gateway to the Ozarks, the western gateway to Greers Ferry Lake and a little piece of Arkansas history nestled in the valley just off U. S. Highway 65. We are 40 miles north of I40, with 3 and 4 lane highways all the way through Clinton. We’re a major gateway to the north with an average of 20,000 cars visiting and passing daily.

Clinton city’s population is 2300, our county population is 17,500. We are governed by the City Council, Mayor, the County Judge and Quorum Court Members.

All Van Buren K-12 schools are state accredited.

Our industrial park has all the amenities; water, sewer, natural gas, phone service, and electricity. Our area also has the latest technology, including cable, DSL, and satellite systems for computer and communication needs.

In August of 2005 Ozark Health Medical Center opened a state-of the-art 25 bed hospital and a 137 patient nursing home, the Boston Rural Health Medical Clinic and a doctor’s building and pharmacy.

The old hospital is being used by North Central Career Center and our county offices. The career center brings education a step closer for those wanting to further their education and the county offices needed more space in order to keep up with the growth of the county.

We have two airports – Clinton Municipal, with a runway 4000 feet. And Holley Mountain Airpark, runway has 4800 feet with landing instruments to allow landing in all types of weather. There is the capability to land Lear Jets and other crafts of similar size.

We have 2 small manufacturing companies and 1 large manufacturer, a Wal-Mart Super Center, several restaurants and fast food establishments, 3 motels, a movie theater, a 9 hole golf course, and great city parks and ballparks. Fishing and hunting are fantastic in our area.

We have many tourist attractions and events happening in Van Buren County and Clinton that are available throughout the year. We have summer and fall festivals, the Chuck Wagon Races and the Van Buren County Fair, just to name a few. The Natural Bridge and the Historical Museum are two of the areas most favored attractions. There is also an active senior center serving lunch and meals on wheels daily.

We are very fortunate to be a part of Greers Ferry Lake Recreation Area with boating, fishing, and many other water sports. The Corps of Engineers Park at Choctaw offers camping, swimming and picnicing. The park has 169,000 visitors annually. These are just a few of the assets Van Buren and Clinton have to offer.

As you browse through our web site (www.ClintonChamber.com ) you will learn many more things about us, such as; we are an Arkansas Community of Excellence (ACE), and a Main Street town. We are 1 of 17 towns in the state of Arkansas with both honors.

If you haven’t been to Clinton in a long time or if you’ve never been to Clinton, we invite you to visit. And if you’re looking for a great place for you and your family to live, we’re that town, too!

I’m Linda Fisher, Executive Director of the Clinton area Chamber of Commerce and we look forward to seeing you at “Clinton, We Simply Call It Home.”
